![]() Not a single gamer wants to play Final Fight for its story, for plot never mattered in the series, but in this case, it is required to go through once. The storyline, believe it or not, is one of the game’s fewest strong points, as this nitty-gritty crime drama sports its own twists and turns, even throwing in a shocker or two. It is up to Kyle to not only get his brother, Cody, out of this huge mess, but to also destroy those responsible for the drug itself and to save Metro City once and for all. However, the drug has a side effect as well – those who use the drug have glowing light coming out of their eyes and through the body, not to mention the fact that they go completely insane. Another problem has surfaced within the streets of Metro City – a piece of drug called “glow”, an addictive, yet terrible drug that allows its bearer to gain superhuman strength. After the match, Cody sets off on his own and yet, after celebrating with him in a bar moments later, Kyle witnesses his brother getting kidnapped and being knocked out in the process. The game begins in an underground fight club, in where you take on Handsome Bob and proceed to kick the crap out of him, therefore winning your first fight. His younger brother, Kyle, on the other hand, can fight. Because of these facts, his knees are crippled and therefore cannot fight any longer. In this game, it’s a different story, as he is not only a released convict, but Cody is also older. In Streetwise, players assume the role of Kyle Travers, the younger sibling of Cody Travers, one of the legendary heroes of Metro City who turned convict in Street Fighter Alpha 3. Unfortunately, Final Fight Streetwise is one of the worst games of 2006 and will force many to wonder why Capcom ever released such a piece of garbage in the first place. Eleven years since the third installment graced our presence, the series’ fourth sequel, Final Fight Streetwise, is finally released for the gaming public to see and play. One by one, games like Fighting Force and Urban Reign has failed to capture the spark that Final Fight once burned within its soul. ![]() Unfortunately, so far, it has not been successful. Therefore, other games of its kind tried to stake their claim as the king in a new territory – in 3D. Yet it’s been eleven years since gamers, young or old, saw a new entry in the series. Even so, it was Final Fight that threw them back into the pavement for good. From 1989-1995, the series enjoyed its reign peacefully, no matter how many other challengers, such as The Combatribes or Rival Turf, attempted to dethrone the series. ![]() Even if Taito’s Double Dragon was the first beat-em-up of its kind, it was Final Fight that stole the hearts of gamers everywhere, as they were plucking their quarters into the arcade machine in order to fend off bad guys with three legendary characters – Cody, Guy, and Mike Haggar. The name alone carries instant recognition by gamers everywhere, either young or old.
